In line with the Central Bank of Egypt's regulations, the International Bank Account Number (IBAN) has been adopted for sending and receiving local and international transfers since June 30, 2020.
An IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is a standardized account number format recognized by banks and other financial institutions worldwide. It facilitates local & international Inward or outward fund transfers more accurately.
Your existing account number will remain valid without any changes. The IBAN is a different electronic format of your account number that will be used only for sending and receiving local and international transfers.
To ensure that all your international transfers are processed successfully, you will need to provide your IBAN when sending or receiving transfers to or from your account.
